When a loved one is no longer with us, we tend to ignore our own happiness. And what could make a veer nari feel happy and more loved than receiving an unexpected gift on her birthday? We at VRFA feel that it is important to be there the martyr families not only through trying times but also on important days to thank them for their sacrifice and to let them know that they are special.

On their birthdays, we make sure that they have a day full of joy and celebrations. We get them a birthday cake and a present, and give them a chance to relax, enjoy the love and attention, and be on the receiving end for a change. It is truly a rewarding experience to see the happiness in these women’s faces, knowing that they still have someone to look out and care for them.

Our Gift a Birthday Program is made possible with the support of all our benefactors. We are thankful to all the people and organizations who have volunteered to give our veer naris a day free of their everyday worries and cares, and full of laughter and celebrations. There is no better way to make a person feel like they belong! This is the message we are trying to bring to the families we reach out to – they belong with us. We are grateful to all of those who have donated to this program, and look forward to continued support.
